Scam 1 –  HSBC Scam New Payee Texts

An increasingly common tactic used by phishing scammers is to send a fake HSBC text to your mobile phone. As one of the largest consumer banks in the UK, HSBC are one of the most popular banks to mimic. One of the tactics used by the scammers is the new payee scam text.

If you get a HSBC new payee scam text or from HSBC that then you can report it to HSBC on: phishing@hsbc.co.uk, or by phoning 03457 404 404.

Scam 2 – HSBC payment from new device text

Another common tactic employed by scammers targeting HSBC customers is to send a fake text suggesting a payment has been made from your HSBC account from a new device. The HSBC new device text contains a link to a dodgy website designed to steal your bank details.
