Although Scotland has not had a confirmed Coronavirus care as of yet the Government is taking several steps to prepare for the virus. One such measure is the opening of a drive through testing centre in the capital. The Government has also set up a dedicated Coronavirus information and advice helpline for anyone concerned they may have contracted or come into contact with someone who has contracted the virus. The helpline is a freephone number and you can connect on 0800 028 2816.

Individuals as well as schools, businesses and public institutions can also phone the Coronavirus Scotland Helpline to get advice on avoiding as well as how to deal with an outbreak.

Covid-19

The Coronavirus, also called Covid-19, originated in Wuhan, China and has now spread to every continent. Italy has been the most heavily affected country with over a thousand cases and over 20 deaths. So far the UK has escaped relatively lightly with just over 23 confirmed cases. A British man was the only casualty after he contracted the virus after being on the Diamond Princess ship in Japan.
