HSBC Scam Text – new device

The HSBC new device scam begins with an unsolicited phishing text sent to UK mobile owners. The message sent from the number +447931122717 is fairly typical:

HSBC: a new payment was attempted from a NEW DEVICE on 27/10 at 12.53pm.  If this was not you please visit: https://secureredirect(.)live/hsbc/

The website secure redirect has been set up by scammers to look like the real HSBC website. However, anyone who actually clicks on the link will be on a site that is set up by fraudsters to steal personal and banking data. Anyone who does input their details will be at extreme risk of becoming victims of fraud.
