The telephone number 0904 012 1740 is being used as part of a BT scam in which your call is diverted through a 09 premium rate number. Calls to this ’09’ premium rate number will be charged at a rate of £3.60 per minute.
Other ways these scammers work is to phone a customers through a seemingly innocuous landline or mobile number (01 or 02). They then ask you to choose an automated option which will divert to the 09 premium rate number. Also they may leave a message pretending to be from BT and ask you to phone the 09 number.
