The telephone number 02038455141 is in use by scammers purporting to represent HMRC. If you receive a call from this number then do not answer the phone. If you have already answered then hang up without providing any personal or banking details. Providing you don’t press any of the automated options or phone the number back, you will not have to concern yourself with this scam. Just block the number and delete any messages.

The tactics used by the scammers using the number 020 3845 5141 have been reported as threatening and intimidating. They suggest that there is an outstanding tax bill related to a fraud case. If you don’t press an automated options, such as press 1, then an arrest warrant will be issued in your name. In fact anyone who does press 1 will not be sorting out a payment with HMRC, instead they will be at risk of becoming a victim of fraud. The fraudsters will try every trick in the book to try to get you to reveal personal and banking information. Don’t give them anything. Block the number 020 3845 5141 and don’t call back.
