The telephone number 0141 203 0479 is being used as part of a HMRC scam targeting UK citizens. The number was reported on the 6th October 2020.
Recipients of this scam call are warned that there is a tax fraud investigation against them. They are told to press 1 on their keypad to get the situation resolved. In fact anyone who does press 1 will be re-directed to a premium rate telephone line which will cost an arm and a leg for each minute you spend on the line.
If you get a call from a Glasgow number 0141 203 0479 telling you there is HMRC FRAUD under your name and to press 1 for more details, do know it is a scam from scum bags. Block the number and report it.

What should I do if I get a phone call from 0141 203 0479?
The best thing to do is to not answer the phone and block the number. If you have already answered then you should hang up immediately.
