The Wainwright Society are a group of academics and nature lovers who put on lectures and meetings throughout the year to celebrate the work and life of Alfred Wainwright. Wainwright was an explorer who wrote guidebooks documenting and detailing his travels for fellow wanderers. He had a particular love of the uplands of Scotland and England.
