Born in Calcutta in 1965 Sunetra Gupta is a Epidemiologist at Oxford University and also an award winning novelist and translator. On may 21st 2020 she was one of the first Epidemiologists in the UK to suggest that the Covid-19 outbreak was essentially ‘on the way out.’ The implications of this theory are that we should bring about a rapid end to lockdown.
