The Western Trust Milk Bank take donations of breast milk from new-mothers, to assist babies in distress. If you would like to donate or find out more then phone +44 6862 8333 from the Republic of Ireland or 028 6862 8333 from the UK.

Kind-hearted mothers and mothers to be may choose to make a donation to the human milk bank based at the South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen. This can be organised by phoning the Milk Bank Northern Ireland number +44 (0) 28 6862 8333.

The Human Milk Bank aims to provide milk to children in Neo-natal units across Ireland. It can also be used in situations where a new mother is too sick to breastfeed. The Milk Bank Northern Ireland team, work from a lab within the South West Acute Clinic in Enniskillen.

As per the screening process donors must be in good health and non-smokers. They should not have had drugs that may be passed on through their breast milk. Plus it is advised that they haven’t recently has a tattoo, acupuncture or any other treatment involving needles.
