The Manor Clinic was set up in 2007 by two businessmen from the Southampton area and David Nott the ex manager of the nearby Priory Clinic. Combining local knowledge and business acumen with many years of experience in treating addictions the trio purchased a hotel with the aim of combining luxury rehab with an intensive recovery program.

The Manor Clinic Recovery Program
The Manor Clinic is a 13 bed luxury rehab set in a Georgian mansion that used to serve as a hotel. Service users are invited to stay for a 7 day, two week or four week detox rehab. These are relatively short periods of time for a detox and rehab, in fact in some cases an alcohol detox may take nearly a week and some drug detoxes can take longer. However this is offset by the fact that the Manor Clinic offer free aftercare services for life for clients who complete their programmes. This aftercare service includes a weekly meeting at the Manor Clinic and a free telephone line for ex residents to phone if they are having difficulties maintaining their sobriety. The advice is: pick up the phone before you pick up a drink.
The residential 7, 14, or 28 day detox and rehab programme are designed top tackle any type of addiction, including: alcohol detox, drug detox, help with depression or anxiety, and eating disorders.
All service users are expected to follow the intense and busy rehab schedule and attend all meeting on time. The Manor Clinic is a 7 day a week programme with classes scheduled for mornings and afternoons. Each morning begins with a half hour meditation at 8am. After breakfast service users then attend three hours of groups or diary and 12 step work. There is a one hour break for lunch after which there are group therapy sessions such as relapse prevention, assertiveness training and step work.
