Who are AVIC INTL?
AVIC International Holding Corporation 中航国际 are an international investment and share-holding company that are owned by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China. The Aviation Industry Corporation of China were founded in 1979 to export military aircraft and equipment on behalf of the Chinese military and Government. Over time the remit of the company have grown and they have opened several subsidiaries, to manage the different areas of sales and investment programs.
Avic also have academic links with several notable higher education institutions across the globe. Most notable among these is the AVIC Centre for Structural Design and Manufacture. This AVIC research centre at Imperial College London is a joint collaboration between the university and AVIC International.
The company, including their subsidiaries, are an important investment provider as part of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative, which includes loans from the Chinese Government and Chinese companies in return for building and infrastructure projects. AVIC INTL have a particularly strong presence in Africa where they run water supply projects, hotel building drives, construction training programs, conservation projects and build transport infrastructure like airports.

AVIC International Beijing Co – This subsidiary was established in 1992 with the original purpose of dealing with the sale of Chinese Civic and military products. The first product they exported to Africa were rickshaws, this later moved on to trucks. Nowadays they export shipbuilding materials, and the Electro-mechanical EPC business besides the original import and export of aerotechnology equipment.
The Grand Skylight Hotels Management Company (GSHM) – This subsidiary of AVIC INTL are a high-end global hotel construction and management company. Their headquarters are in Shenzhen, China.
AVIC International Renewable Energy Co. LTD – this subsidiary provide technology and investment for renewable energy conversion projects in countries around the globe. This include the construction of power stations, integration services and EPC centres. They launched several renewable power projects in countries such as Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, the UK, Australia and the USA and Tanzania and Ghana in Africa.
