This scam works by giving potential victims a one-ring call on their mobile phones. Anyone who returns the call to +676 8500170 will be connected to a premium-rate telephone line with extortionate charges. The scammers will try and keep you on the line for as long as possible, knowing that you are paying through the nose for each minute you stay on the line.
