Warning –
The telephone number 020 3777 2324 is being used as part of a dangerous HMRC telephone scam. Do not answer the phone to this number and if you have already answered then be careful not to follow any of the automated options.
“This is HMRC. There is a tax fraud case registered under your name. Please press #1. If you do not press 1 the case will proceed against you and you will get arrested shortly”…..
The automated message suggests that a fraud case has been taken out and in order to avoid a court case press 1. We strongly suspect that customers who do this will be diverted to an expensive premium rate number. Do not press 1 or interact with this call in any way. Hang up, then block the number.
Just had an automated call to tell me that a fraud case has been taken out by HMRC against me and that if I don’t press 1, then the police will be round to arrest me. I decided to wait for plod. Is this the right decision. The no. Is 020 3777 2324 in case you want to confers.
